Tea Time with Dr. Sudaryono, Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia

The Policy Labs at The Merah Putih Initiative (TMPI) hosted Tea Time, a program designed as an intimate and conversational space with influential figures shaping Indonesia today.

In its inaugural edition held on Monday (22/6), TMPI invited the Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Sudaryono, with a group of 50 young professionals drawn from business and the investment sector, academics, practitioners, students, and civil society. All united by shared curiosity and willingness to listen and challenge. About his journey, his vision for Indonesia, and his thread that runs through a life committed to public service.

The conversation also covered a range of strategic issues, from social mobility and access to quality education, to the equitable distribution of economic growth, budget governance, and the future of agriculture and food security.

As a non-governmental institution, TMPI places open dialogue, independence, and collaboration as its foundational pillars. Forums such as Tea Time are designed not merely to bring differing perspectives together, but to build a healthy feedback loop for the government.

We are grateful to Dr. Sudaryono for his candor, his warmth, and for meeting us where we are.
